Last week Think attended the 5th SESAR Innovation Days in Bologna from 1st to 3rd of December 2015. The event brought together experts from across Europe focused on providing innovative solutions for improving air traffic management.
A range of interesting presentations and posters provided information on research topics including HMI and decision support tools, delays, human factors and applied modelling and optimisation. The second day included a newly introduced ASDA research tournament which saw two teams debate the key areas of RPAS integration into controlled airspace and increasing TP accuracy under bad weather conditions.
We presented two posters on Remote Tower, including ideas for the future development of “Virtual Tower”, where ATS are remotely provided through the use of computer generated images of the aerodrome, aircraft and vehicles and/or surveillance. Highlighting our continued commitment to contributing at the forefront of Remote Tower research.
