Think Contributes to the EUROCONTROL TBS Specification

As part of ongoing support to SESAR project 6.8.1 (wake turbulence concepts) with the EUROCONTROL Airports Unit, Think have contributed to the writing of requirements for a Time Based Separation (TBS) specification. After the successful development and validation of TBS in the SESAR programme, this specification is being developed by EUROCONTROL to support the deployment of TBS at 16 European airports by 2024 as mandated by the European Commission.

Think’s involvement in the development and validation of TBS within SESAR and involvement in the NATS deployment of TBS at London Heathrow in 2015, placed us in a unique position to contribute to the writing of the specification requirements.

The TBS specification was released for formal consultation to European member states in April 2016. If you are interested in reading the draft specification it can be found on the EUROCONTROL website.
