The SESAR safety target for 2020 is to improve safety performance by a factor of 10. To meet this target innovative research and development is required. Think Research have a holistic view of the related domains of Safety, Human Factors and Validation and this unique position has enabled us to bring cross-domain knowledge to safety assessments, as well as allowing us to take the lead on “cross-over” projects requiring a combination of skills.

Recently, as part of the SESAR ‘early projects’, Think Research and EUROCONTROL jointly funded an E-Learning course for the Human Reliability Assessment (HRA) and Controller Action Reliability Assessment (CARA) processes. As well as co-funding this project, Think Research also developed the learning material and it can be found online at the Think Research Website.

Today, Think Research work on safety and HF projects with industry, ANSP and academia in the UK and Europe. We also pursue our own internal research projects, using our skills and technologies to integrate the safety, human factors and validation cases. Recent highlights include the successful Instantaneous Self Assessment (ISA) application for Apple iPhones, leading one review to state that “Human Factors' long overdue arrival into the world of Apps is provided by Think Research with its iSA App.”
